My sons pediatric dentist just discovered a cyst under his baby tooth preventing the adult from moving up. He was reffered to an oral surgeon for cyst biopsy/removal. The oral surgeon he was reffered to accepted the Met Life dental but not Tricare, so they told me to call tricare and find one who did. Tricare told me to call his pediatrician and get a refferal.
Does this mean Tricare will be covering the surgery? The Tricare handbook said it medically covered oral cysts, so I am hoping it really does.
Has anyone had anything like this happen? This has to happen ASAP before school starts, so I am really hoping we dont have to pay the 40% and that Tricare will cover it. The estimate was insane.
Any info would be ever so helpful, since I have to wait till next week to hear back. LOL
