I never seem to catch it in time... Oh well... I like the idea behind what they're doing, but yeah... The way people react is kinda crazy...

Well, that's thoughtful of them. I can see how it gets a little crazy.

I just wish there was some type of program that could help me. I am a 100% service-connected disabled FEMALE veteran, permanent and total and individually unemployable. Yes, the VA sends me a check every month, but my local VA hospital and regional offices are for SHIT. They do not carry the medications I need/use, and they do not have the specialty trained doctors to help me get better. I served POST Vietnam and PRE Gulf War; so there are zip, nada, absolutely NO programs to help me. I am sick to the gills with the Wounded Warrior Program ads, I am a Cold War Vet, yes, I got shot at, yes, served in some really crummy/horrible places, yes, survived the crash of my aircraft, but, I applied for adaptive housing in 1986, most of the post 9/11 vets were still in diapers, and still I wait. I had to purchase my own service dog, my VA said there was no funding for them, and am currently saving my pennies to buy myself a power chair. Although, I will be able to go up and down my hallway, that is the only room it will fit in. I am sick of laying in bed, day after day, if I have to use the bathroom, or eat, my service dog grabs hold of a towel and pulls me down the hallway, ON the floor, until I can get to the bathroom, I pull myself up on the toilet and in the kitchen, the microwave is on the floor and I keep all foods in the bottom of my fridge and in the lower cabinets. Yes, this is my life. Pretty Shitty. I can see why three of my best friends gave up and shot themselves in the head rather than deal another day with our crappy VA system.
