I agree with the previous posters Manhattan is nice, but I would stay away from Junction City.
Quoting nadinebates92:When I talked to housing they said we qualify for a 3 bedroom and there is no waiting list! So hopefully its still like that next month! *fingers crossed*
We're really hoping to live on base!
My DH and I will be going to Riley after he finishes training in November! First PCS, nervous and excited! Hope we meet there!
We are on our second time being stationed here. The first time we didn't have kids and lived in Manhattan and this time we have 2 and live on post. Two very different experiences. Post is pretty nice and getting better. They try to have a lot of activities going on. There is a lot to do outside in the warmer months. If you want to go anywhere other than Junction City or Manhattan be prepared for a drive. It's not a bad place to live, but we are ready to be gone.
Off base housingis kind of a hassle if you have pets. We rented a really crummy overpriced place forawhile and finally decided to get on base. It's not a bad place to be. There are lots of things to do here and in the surronding areas. Topeka is only an hour away and Manhattan has lots to do as well and it is about 20 minutes away. We go there once a week because the library on base is a joke and my kids love books. Plus the zoo is there-- really I don't know what's there that isn't kid oreinted because I always have kids with me LOL
