Find yourself not commenting on a post because people will bitch about your response? Not because it is mean, but because it is honest and you just don't want to deal with the whining? Today I found myself doing that quite often. My restraint has been quite admirable.

“Here a question arises: whether it is better to be loved than feared,
or the reverse. The answer is, of course, that it would be best to be
both loved and feared. But since the two rarely come together, anyone
compelled to choose will find greater security in being feared than in
being loved.”

A lot. I will have a long, honest response typed out (not just in this group or even always on cafemom.) but then I delete it rather than deal with the crap I'd get for not being nice.

I do it on more than just this board as well. I am glad I am not the only one.

Just had that same problem with a post. I wrote out this longish response that I did my best to be empathetic and also honest. I rewrote it twice and gave up. There was just no way to sound super nice while typing and be truthful. I've had my fill of drama for the week and I think my BP and wrists need the break. LOL :-)

All the time. I will type out this long reply then delete it. Most of the time I feel like I am wasting my time because like they would pay attention. Many have the same problem as others. It feels like I am hearing the same old record, song for the younger ones, playing over and over. Maybe reading my replies but really? would I be of any help? Or maybe someone else will say the same thing and take the negative responses. Sit back, read and learn. You don't know if what you are saying and what they are reading is the same thing. Posts can be taken different ways.

yeah i do it too. usually the reason i decide to delete is because its not worth the fight, nothing i say is 'new' or 'life changing' and some people really dont want the truth.
