I started preterm labor (I'm 25 weeks) around 4:45 yesterday morning. We went to OB and, thank God, after two IV bags of fluids, the contractions subsided on their own by around 1:00 pm. I had no dilation, but was affaced more than my OB likes to see.
I am home and resting now, though with everything that's going on, it is difficult to take it easy, as I have been told to do.
Please keep us in your thoughts.
Thanks.
Rest, stay hydrated and no lifting heavy stuff. Also, trust your body. If you feel like something is not right, go to the ER.
My family will keep you and your little one in our prayers.
I trust my body...but it's often hard to know what to do. The ER and OB are 72 miles from our house. We always keep enough gas in the car to at least make it there and cash in our wallets to get food or whatever while at the hospital, but it's still a difficult situation to know if it's "worth" a full day out of town or not. This time, it for sure was. I won't be waiting as long to go, if there is a next time, either.

Stay put, baby! Please, please rest as much as you can and stay hydrated.
I promise I will rest and hydrate better. Lesson very well learned.

I went through it with numbers 2, 3 & 4. They were all born early. My contractions started around 30 weeks and were held off with trebutaline and many hospital visits. Hang in there until at least 37 weeks!

We live in a very small, rural town. There are only about 600 people here, max. The "Big City" of 12,000 people is 72 miles away, and that's the nearest hospital.
They have no idea what started my labor, aside from being dehydrated. It stopped on it's own, so hopefully it won't start again. We'll see.

I feel you. I hope it stops soon and gets better!!!! :( I'm 16 weeks and am already dilating, I'm at a 2 now, and having bad contractions. I go back to the dr tomorrow, so I am expecting a hospital stay. Why are you so far from the dr? What are they saying?
Do what the doctors tell you and stay off of your feet; rest and hydration. Take care.
