tricare and trying to get pregnant..

Hi my name is Bethany, I'm 21 years old, my hubby is air force and we've been married for 4 years.

Recently I saw my PCM and asked her what I need to do about getting referred to an OB/Gyn since my DH said yes to trying for a baby. All she could tell me is I have to have a positive PG test before I can get a referral... Is this normal or should I really push to get referred?

Any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

It depends on why you think you need the referral and if your base has an on site OBGYN at the MTF. why do you want the referral? Not trying to pry, just help.

Are there problems getting pregnant? Unless you have a need to start seeing any fertility specialists, you will need to get pregnant first before seeing your pcm. Are you wanting a checkup or physical before trying to get pregnant? If so, all you need to do is ask to see your pcm and request the referral to an out of town ob/gyn. Unless they have one at your base clinic. Bottom line, theres nothing to be done until you become pregnant.

What they said.

If you need information about what to do to prepare your body for baby, there is a pregnancy group here that will offer good advice, or you can PM me.

I hope you don't have or suspect any feertility concerns. Best of luck to you.

Another thing, your pcm can normally help suggest natural things to help getting pregant. But everything the ladies above said is true.

You don't really need to head to the ob until you are pregnant or have been trying for quite awhile.
