386 form?

So DH is working with the National Guard and hoping to be recruited through them. He was turned down by the Army because of an expunged juvenile misdemeanor (long story). His recruiter knows how badly DH wants to be active and said that if he is still interested, after he gets through training and does 6 drills, he would then be able to apply for a 386 form and the Army might take him that way...

He didn't go into anymore detail and DH didn't want to bring it up again because he just wants to focus on getting into the Guard first. (he goes to MEPS on Tuesday)

But I'm curious. Does anyone know what a 386 form is and what it means? It seemed a bit strange to me that the Army would ignore the expunged misdemeanor just because he got into the Guard...

A DD form 368 is a conditional release. My husband had to fill one out for his prior service reenlistment. For my husband, it just meant he had to fill out the form and then pass his PFT.

The link above is for a PDF o the form. Sorry I can't make it clicky.
