ever heard of a P3 squadron? ~ navy~

 so my husband put in for orders, two locations are a p3 squadron.. and the other is just a ship..

just trying to get some details about it.

I thought that they had phased out the P3.

I know roughly what they are and do but no personal experience, sorry :/

no, its cool..

welll can you tell me what the deployments are like? how long..

the hubs was explaing it like it was a dream squadron to go to.. everyone in the office was telling him he had to take it.. they all say it is a dream job.

If memory serves me, deployments range fro 4 months to 10 or more months depending on where they are(one of my friends was stationed in Dubai for 10 months with his P3 crew).
I will ask one of my girlfriends(her husband was a P3 pilot).

is it true that when they go on deployment they get flown to the location, instead of being on a ship? thats what the hubs was told.

DH is a flight engineer on P3 do polymers range from 6 months plus depending on needs of the navy. They either take a p3 to the location or contract a plane to take a large group of guys.
Depending on what your DH does it can be a cake assignment not so much in our experience.
