I personally think it's one step closer to equality. I just hope some day, same-sex spouses will be able to receive full benefits.

If you read the article, it states that same-sex couples will not receive medical benefits.

The only benefits they're offering them are access to bases, commissaries, and family services such as helping spouses find jobs and family counseling. I don't know of ANYBODY who would try to scam the government for such things.

i believe what the previous posters are saying.. is as time goes on and more benefits get approved, then yeah, i think more contract marriages are going to show up:/  contract marriages are already an issue... I cant even begin to imagine how bad it will be if people not wanting to get married figure out it is a good way to get a roommate with no expectations...
