What to get a military spouse neighbor, who helped me out?

I work on Thursdays, I have two kids.  The public school here gets out at 12:10 the first Thursday of the month (my daughter goes to public school, my son to private school).  My neighbor has taken my daughter for free this year while I work (it's just for 30-60 minutes).  I quit my job, because of an upcoming deployment, a potential cut in my son's therapy hours due to the lovely sequestration (he has autism and goes to a theraputic school), and I couldn't afford child care for as little as I make.  This is the last day she will be helping me out.  I was thinking of getting her a $50 gift card, but any thoughts as to where?  I was thinking maybe Vera Bradley?  The brand is huge out here.  Any other thoughts?

I don't really know.  We just talk about kids and stuff.

A gift card is fine, but maybe from a more general type of place or restaurant. VB isn't everyone's bag.

I agree with this. Restaurant gift cards are always a go to one I get.

I usually get people a visa giftcard, they can use it literally wherever they want.

Vera Bradley sounds perfect. Especially this time of year with the new prints, I think she'd enjoy it. They have so many cute and useful accessories.

I agree with the restaurant or just the regular Visa gift card. I know a VB I wouldn't use. I don't like the look of her stuff.

I say something like a small box from edible arrangements like chocolate dipped apples and strawberries and a more neutral gift card like local restaurant or store with a variety if you aren't sure what she likes.
