OT- wooden floors

The house we're renting has real wood floors. From the 60s. In awful shape. The puppies found a hole in the living room (why they decide to mess with it after 3 months, I don't know) and have started literally eating the wood around it making it worse. I don't know what to do with it to keep them from eating the wood. I put the coffee table leg over it for now but it can't stay there. I'd rather not have maintenance in my house, and DH will probably make it worse somehow. lol Any ideas?

You are aware you will have to pay for that damage, right? Anyway I guess the rug is a good idea.

I would put a rug and prepare to pay to fix it.

The hole was here before we moved in.

I've wanted a rug since our furniture moves all over the place on the hard floors. They're just so expensive and I'm too picky about them to choose one. lol We have so much brown and honey colored wood, something bright would help. I just have no idea what colors/patterns to go with.

Maybe so, but your puppy/puppies made it worse. You will be responsible for the additional damage.

stick deoderant. it will keep puppies off anything. just rub some on the hole. kept my pups from chewing on anything, and after a few weeks, they leave it alone all together. it tastes terrible and dries out thier mouths.
