So the base pharmacy is no longer carrying vicodin

I had surgery yesterday at a hospital out in town. Afterwards I was given a script for cipro and vicodin. My dh took it to the base pharmacy and they said they no longer carry it and neither will other pharmacies soon. Apparently they are pulling it due to the high amount of tylenol in it and will be replacing it with norco. Luckily my dh was able to have it filled at CVS for me, so I could control my pain. Just thought it was interesting for those that may be on vicodin or need it in the future.

That's interesting because norco is just high dose vicodin, and still has tylenol in it. norco is 10/500 and vicoden is 5/500. So I gues if you are taking 2... you would be getting less by taking one norco instead... but seems a little crazy to pull it all together.

Actually Norco is 5/325, 7.5/325, 10/325. Lortab is only is x/500 dosages, and Vicodin comes in multiple doses with the Tylenol component varying from 500 and up.
