Dumb.

Sandy Hook was such a rare thing. The last time something similar happened was a very long time ago, when our grandparents were kids.

School shootings are for the most part-rare too.

After sandy hook, people just jumped to insane decision making like this one.

I would not be happy if my child's teacher was locked and loaded.

I have a mixed reaction. I think many measures should be taken to prevent a shooter (or other threat) from ever entering the school or getting on campus.

But, a part of me would want that final backup to protect children.

My state is starting this too. I dont really have a problem with it. The ones who are carrying already have a concealed carry permit. And they have to have mental screenings often.

Are u talking about school shootings in general or elementary school shootings? Because there were some while i was in highschool. And that was only 10 years ago when i graduated. But i do agree that this one has more people jumping then the last ones did

Elementary school shootings. The last time something like sandy hook happened was a very long time ago.

But as a whole, school shootings are still very rare.

It's nothing new, 18 states allowed this prior to Sandy Hook, it just wasnt discussed.

I am really not "for" this.  I would rather see armed school officers (which I am not actually thrilled about) rather than armed teachers.  The truth is that we don't know how we would react if we were in that position and it almost seems like an accident waiting to happen.  Just because I have a permit to carry doesn't mean that I am a good shot...
