I don't know what to think

My husband has been deployed to Afghanistan since February.Well, a soldier was lost. His best friend. He told me "he was escorting the body back" those were his exact words... This is even after the communication blackout was initiated... They let him off early to get some sleep because he said he had a long night ahead of him.
At first I thought he just meant he had to escort it back onto base there in Afghanistan but after he said he had to go do this I got to thinking that he meant all the way back to the states which means he would be coming home. I'm just not sure I'm really confused and my heart is broken for the other soldiers family and for my husband. His phone is on also which set another red flag up. I'm just not sure. All I can do is wait I just thought I would get it out....

I wish that if he was coming home this wasn't the reason why :'(

Im sorry :( he is flying with the body to his home of record forthe funeral, so he is stateside but not "home". My husband had taken the body back and i thought he was coming back to base, but ended up going to the hone of record and the. Back to finish his deployment. I never got to see him. Hang in there :(

I'm sorry; I can't even begin to imagine how difficult this is for either of you.  Big hugs.

I'm very sorry for his loss, but from my understanding he still won't be coming home. :-\

Yeah, this.  I'm sorry for their families loss and his, but he will be returning to where ever he's deployed when his current duty is fulfilled.  You won't get to see him.

No they are actually sending him home. He will be home in a couple hours.... It's command dependent
