I asked dh what his opinion on syria is, and wasn't suprised to hear the answer. he's 8 years navy (seabee) and deployed right now. he's always been bluntly honest. lol. here's what he said:
me: what do you think about the potential war in syria?
dh: dont give 2 fucks
we go to war there are alot of potential benefits for the navy and my job
war cause military surges
they bring lots of people in and stop kicking them out
which increases advancement quotas for the short term
war stimulates economy regardless of what people want
me: i keep hearing about how people think it's non of our business and to stay out. but i figured youd have an opinion.
dh: if we go to war with them, i can get deployed there
being there = more money
its not really our business
they are in a civil war, one that will shape their country for the future
we have no right to interfear
but when has that stopped the government from sticking its nose where it doesnt belong before
dh: i dont really care about their country or their problems
doesnt have any effect on my life
nor do i care about our governments reason
if they want to go to war, then im all for it as long as they are willing to pay
hazard duty pay, imenent danger pay, and combat pay total is about 450-600 a month
depending on how they run the numbers
they want to give me an extra 450 a month for building shitty buildings in a shitty country, I am totally ok with that
so what do you think?
