What happens if a deployed soldiers family member gets hurt? Like if the spouse is in the hospital because of a terrible car accident? How severe would something have to be for the soldier to be sent home to be with them?

(No, not in a car accident, just needed something to get your attention)

Planning on running your car off the road?

I would imagine it would depend on a lot of variables.  Where the kids are for one, is there someone else to watch them, have they been put in temporary custody, etc.  How long the hospital stay would be.  If his officer in charge woke up on the right side of the bed...

I am thinking broken leg, no, on a ventilator yes...but everything in between, who knows.

Interesting way to get our attention...not sure I would have chosen that route, but whatever.

I think it would definitely depend on the severity of the injuries, if there's someone to care for the children, etc.

I answered in the latest post.

I think the most accurate answer ( again) is "it depends".

if its life or death situation, send a Red cross message. the RC will call the hospital and find out if it is really a life or death situation before sending it, so you can not just call and say it is a life and death situation when it is not. if you are just injured, but will survive, the may (or may not depending on the comander) allow him home for a short period of time. if you have kids, find a friend to watch them for you, or see if a family member can come stay with you.

That was probably her too. But there is another one on the front page too titled 'what happens if'
