My son is 19.  He went to basic for the Air Force almost a year ago.   He has finished basic, tech school and is not stationed in Germany. He has all gone by so quickly.  It is hard to believe my boy has been in the AF for almost a year and is pretty much a grown up.  He will never fully be a grown up in my eyes.

Hi! My son is also 23 and signing his contract and getting sworn in on Tuesday 11/12/13 and leaves for Fort Benning on Jan 21st and I am just an emotional mess! On one side... SO PROUD!! On the other... SO SCARED!!! I joined this site because I have no friends with kids in the military and the reactions I get are mixed and I have so many questions and our recruiters have been great at answering all my questions candidly as I have asked them to but they are a little biased and not a mom with her only child enlisting and be accepted into the Ranger school!! Have you takes to you son since he left??

I am new to this site My son is 18 and just passed his ASVAB test and is talking to recruiters. He is hoping to go to boot camp right after high school. My emotions are all over the place but when I see how happy he is, it makes me realize he is making the right choice. How did you make it through this stage and boot camp? Beth
