Has anyone heard about lab tests that your doctor orders now being billed to patients or having to pay for them up front out of pocket?

Does anyone is this includes all lab work?

I know nothing about that to be honest.  My son has labs done often and some are done by the MTF and some are sent to the local children's hospital.  I've never had a bill sent to me.  They've always billed Tricare and Tricare has covered them.  Where did you heart this?

No I haven't. Your hubby is retired, right? Did this happen to you?

We are on standard and have to pay a portion of labs. I believe it is 15%. I haven't had to pay up front though.

Yes, this just happened to me. I forget what test it was but they made me sign something stating that if Tricare did not pay the bill I would be responsible. It was $19.

There is a lot that TriCare isn't paying for anymore... I just got a bill from the my pedi's office because TC won't pay for my DD's "diagnosis". I took her in so that we could be refered to a specialist, she's having some learing difficulties. and now I'm stuck with a 150 dollar bill :-/ all so I could get DD the help she needed since the school was adment that she was "fine" ( Momma was right, the poor kid has a reading comprehention problem....) The money is worth it in the end, but I wish I had known before, so I could have been prepared for the cost.

Wow!  Tricare won't pay for the general pedi appointment where you had them refer you to specialist?  Or they won't pay for the specialist?  Either way...I don't get why they won't pay for it...I'm sorry.
