If it's a regular trip that we would take then yes but we don't take any extra visits to family and I don't move back to be nearer to family. We usually alternate Christmas between my MIL and my family and the summer we spend time in NC at my MIL and in MA with my family.

I have. Once. We actually had the vacation planned and then he ended up deploying 3 months early so I went by myself(flying next to THAT empty seat was depressing as hell).

I don't go out of my way to do it.  I rarely even see my family.

It is my every hope not to. I think it may have happened once, where my ILs came to visit while dh was deployed. I could be making that up though. I remember it being discussed but can't remember if it actually happened.

We don't travel to see them when he's home, so that would be a big no.
