My littlest one in very active in karate, and just had a belt and rank advancement ceremony this past Saturday. They ALWAYS open it with someone preforming to "proud to be an American" by Lee Greenwood. Which has never been and issue until now. We lost a young friend on May 29th ing Aphganistan, KIA, and for some reason I completely forgot about the song until I'm sitting front and center taking photos for the school owners. And midway through the song the flood gates opened and BAM! WOW that was hard. I know now that it is going to take some time to hear that song and the hymns that we sang at his service. Add on the fact that I am waiting for word to come of my son being deployed. Tell me it gets easier, the worry, the fear, and the hurt of a loss.
