Any military families who adopted?

My husband said that the pamphlet in legal said that adopted children are not covered by TriCare until the adoption is finalized. I was wondering if anyone knew of any affordable health insurance, perhaps discounted for military families? The little boy we are adopting needs daily medication.

I do not have any experience, but wouldn't the child be eligible for state aid/medicaid for his medical needs?

Good thought...that would make the most sense.

Our children were covered by tricare from the moment we signed papers to take custody of them.   In both cases it was months before the adoptions were finalized.
