i am not on a diet, but i am trying to eat better and have been doing this with my fiance for about a week and a half. i used to eat very crappy so this is new fo rme, i have been trying to cut some of the excessive amounts of sodium in my diet as well as calories.

daily i have been having 3 hard boiled eggs or 2 hard boiled and fruit salad packed in juice for breakfast

lunch has been chunk light tuna packed in water with miracle whip(cant eat it dry) on a wrap. for a snack i have been eating a serving size of those carmel rice cake things from quacker i think it is. then for dinner i have been eating kinda crappy but not as crappy before...sloppy joes (with turkey meat), pasta or mac and cheese (whole grain) things like that.

any ideas for more simple tweaks? are my lunch and breakfasts good in your opinion?

thanks guys!

I eat turkey sloppy joes once in awhile to. I would add more protein. And eggs and tuna are good. You can add peanut butter on the rice cracker. that is a healthy fat and a protein. I would throw in some veggies for sure and lean meat. Also another good snack is an apple and cottage cheese. I would strive for 5 small meal;s a day.

Agree with the more frequent smaller meals each day.  With the tuna, can you do Miracle Whip Light or light mayo?  Can you exchange the rice cakes for melba toast?  Also agree that you need more protein.  Will keep you fuller longer.  I will make the tuna, but eat it on melba toast...or I will have melba toast with reduced fat peanut butter.  I eat turkey pepperoni with that Helluva 75% reduced fat cheese.  For salads, I use the Wishbone blue cheese fat free dressing.  You're on the right track, but you might want to scale back more on the pasta.  Good luck!

I remember calling it baby toast as a kid. I think you find it in the cracker section. I forgot about it. It has been so long since I had some. It taste good.

You already got some good advice more protien and the cleaner the better aka staying away from processed foods A good snack is Greek yogurt or cottage cheese w nuts and berries
It's good to think of it not as a diet but a healthier lifestyle.. I still eat healthy and clean even pregnant and it has been awesome!

Breakfast--you can try yogurt and whole fruit, veggie omelet, oatmeal, turkey sausage (turkey bacon is horrible IMO)

Lunch--salad with grilled or poached chicken breast, turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread/wrap

Dinner--some meat and veggie but yeah going whole wheat pasta and using ground turket is good as well!

Try watching your carbs also. Don't be as severe as a diabetic, but try to keep the carbs as low as you can without too much hunger. Protein is a must and so is fiber, so make sure you're getting enough. Also oatmeal is a winner because we do need some whole grains in our day and oatmeal is a great source of fiber:-)

I am a plant based eater. Little to no eggs, dairy, meat, oil or refined sugar.  Soooo, I am not exactly impressed with your diet.  =)  I didn't always eat this way.  I watched "Forks Over Knives" and realized what I thought was eating healthy was not.  From what I see, you need more fruits and veggies, less refined foods.  Gluten free oatmeal is a great breakfast, as are fruit smoothies.  Salads, mexican oriented foods CAN be a great option,  chinese oriented foods CAN be good, roasted veggies are super yum.  Home roasted or raw nuts and seeds are good.  Homemade "larabars" or other "energy" bars keep my kids and DH happy (DH is a triathlete).
