So if I am eating clean does that mean I cut out rice and bread pasta unless they are homemade or does that mean it is better if I limit them or switch to brown rice and whole grain/wheat bread and pasta?

You should stick to the whole grain ones like brown rice and sweet potatoes and whole grain pasta.. Bread is a tricky one.. While grain bread is def ok but you have to read the ingredient list carefully some claim to be healthy whole grains but the ingredient list is full of processed chemicals.. Ezekiel bread is good a lot of clean eaters use that bread I've used it for clean French toast and it came out decent.. It's usually in the freezer section..
