Just wondering if anyone else is, or is planning to, make their daughter's baby food?

yep.  What I do is buy a couple of different types of baby food to try and then I make the kind the baby seems to like. That way I don't have a ton of food that won't get eaten.  I make sweet potatoes, apple, butternut squash, avacado, to start with. (my kids never liked the cereal.)  I freeze the portions in ice cube trays (you can get the trays with lids at walmart or grocery stores usually or you can plastic wrap them) then when they are frozen I put the portions in freezer containers and label them. That way I can thaw only what I need and very little gets wasted.  Its simple and you don't need to add any seasonings or salt.  I am not going to start solids until she is past 6 months old though.  My husbands uncle got us this baby food maker. Its neat, it steams the food, and purees it in this little appliance that fits on your counter.  But you don't need a fancy thing to make it.

I actually made my 2 year olds baby food for her too. I decided that I'm going to make lexies this time around as well. Not making the cereals though. lol. tried that last time and it just wasnt working for me.  I love that i can make all sorts of different flavors that she wouldnt be able to taste via jarred food

I just made Piper some carrots the other day! Boiled them then threw them in the food processor with some water added in. After all my efforts, she didn't like them too much :-(. Oh well, we'll try some other things pretty soon!

We made some applesauce for her and she loved it! Using a magic bullet helps tremendously.
