I know many of us love to peer into the others kitchens and see what's cookin'. So, this hopefully ongoing post is for that culinary voyerism. Much love alex

This is perfect. I originally conceived this group to be super boring, no-drama, really useful group.  I don't need excitement.

But the other day I found myself wondering how I could add a little kick and I thought of the old thread in the RMT that talked about what people ate for dinner.  I remember that thread was from, time to time, a real life saver.

I'm so happy you started this, Alex.

I think tonight, we are just having hot dogs.  oi.

Great faith, great doubt, great effort.

Tonight I am having a couple of friends over, and one of them is on an elemination diet to find out if he has food allergies, gluten is suspected, so right now he can only eat lean meat and veggies.  So I am making Chicken Cilantro, a very simple mexican recipe

one onion and a clove of garlic, sauteed to transparent

cube the chicken and cook with the onion/garlic

Add One handful of chopped cilantro

toss, remove from pan

deglaze pan with vermouth to make a small bit of sauce

serve with rice (in this case no rice for him)

I may serve it with some salad to fill up the plate.

Much love

Alex

I'm feeling food guilt coming over me.

We had bbq pulled pork sandwiches, carrots, and a spinach and red pepper salad.

Don't feel bad Kris, Eli and I just had (early evening snack) colby jack cheese melted on sourdough rye and folded over for  a tiny little cheese "smamich".  How's that for raw?

Either veggie burgers with a side of pickled beets or pizza.

Might save the pizza for tomorrow because my son won't be home til late and he'd be sad if we had pizza without him.

Tonight I am making Beef stew and dumplings

I have been working my way through one of my newer cook books Country Farmhouse Kitchen.

For all of my international cooking, I realized this year, that I didn't have much experience with traditional American food, so its been a side project of mine.

They guys have been loving it, as I don't typically cook a whole lot of beef, hehehe.

Much love

Alex

I feel the beef thing.  But I also feel the pull of trying out what I think of Ethnic American.  BTW.  Don't eat it much, but I LOVE pulled pork.

Tonight I was forced to fall back on the most peasant of all.  We ate curried lentles with peppers on basmati.  Well, it was actually pretty good.  I made rice pudding out of the leftover rice and that was really yummy.

Great faith, great doubt, great effort.
