Matthew 15:18 (New International Version)
“But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.'
I am no real estate tycoon, but in my journey of life I have learned the principle of location, location, location. Where you buy property or a house is important! Your future plans depend on it. I remember looking for a place to expand one of our ministries in the early years of being a pastor. We looked high and low for a place that would meet our need. We found a warehouse at the right price. The problem was that the location was not good. I wish I would have determined that beforehand. We had a great looking building, a healthy vision, but a terrible location. We really didn’t improve anything, but have a bigger building with eventually bigger problems because nobody knew where we were. I thank God that He knew where we were. I was such a rookie! J
Problems are a part of life. At times problems can bring you down. In life, our heart is effected by problems in one way or another. If our heart is in the right place, we tend to view our problems as temporary setbacks that will eventually be overcome. If our heart is in the wrong place we see them as the enemy that has overpowered us and has taken us prisoner. Have you ever been around somebody who has been taken prisoner by their problems? I have. In fact I use to be a prisoner of problems, but my main problem was not what I thought it was. It wasn’t my circumstances. It wasn’t where I was physically, financially or emotionally. The problem was where I was spiritually. My heart was in the wrong place. I didn’t abide by the rule of location, location, location. Where our hearts are planted determines whether we are going to live in the supernatural or the natural. If our heart trust in God, than our heart will lead us through problems, not just to them. If our heart fears and doubts, than we have surrendered to our circumstances and have bought spiritual property on the wrong side of town. If our heart plants itself in a weed patch, than that is what it’s going to produce - weeds.
If you want to know where your heart is living, listen to yourself. What do you hear more? God’s possibilities or your problems? The good thing is that if you find you are in the wrong place, I know a great real estate agent. He is the Holy Spirit and He will move you into some high price real estate bought by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is called “Still Water Meadows”. Check it out. It’s found in Psalm 23. Location, location, location! Move your heart into faith. Give your heart to God.
