The U.S. Postal Service says it will honor actress Katharine Hepburn, humanitarian Mother Teresa and the Negro Baseball Leagues on stamps to be issued in 2010.

Hepburn's image comes from a 1940s publicity photo of the four-time Oscar winner who starred in films The African Queen and Bringing Up Baby.

The Negro Baseball Leagues will be honored with a 44-cent stamp from the U.S. Postal Service

The Negro Leagues Baseball stamps, which will be issued in June, pay tribute to the all-black professional baseball leagues that operated from 1920 to about 1960. The set includes one braod painting that stretches across two frames and can be recreated by placing two 44-cent stamps side by side.

This undated handout image provided by the U.S. Postal Service shows a four 44-cent postage stamps honoring Mother Teresa. A stamp in her honor will go on sale on her birthday, Aug. 26.
Mother Teresa, a Roman Catholic nun who worked with the poor, particularly in India, for almost 50 years, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work.

Other stamps will include silver screen cowboys, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Tom Mix and William S. Hart, as well as Pulitzer-prize winning cartoonist Bill Mauldin, singer Kate Smith, the monarch butterfly and one honoring the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Good ones! :)

Would be nice to get a special set of the baseball stamps; says they line up together to make one big painting.  Would make a nice collectors item or gift for a baseball fan.
