I'm so scared!!! I only have 4 weeks to get and my sugars have been getting worse... no matter what I eat they seem to be getting higher and I have so many slip ups with food because I crave things. I hate that I can't have the things I crave!!! What happens when my sugars are high? Is it really really really bad?? Should I be beyond terrified?

when your sugars are high it means your baby will be very big(meaning c-section) and has the posability of haveing diabetes after born(for life).

I don't think that beyond terified is constructive. It is pretty scary, because you don't want to harm the baby. GB babies tent to be big and have underdeveloped lungs, there is other complications for the baby later in life. You really want to do everything you can. I was doeting and still couldn't get my fasting under control, so I had to take insulin at bedtime. Try taking a walk after every meal, lots of water, always pair with protein, even slip ups, that will slow down the sugat break down in the body. The South Beach protein bars are great! Also after the birth the baby will be making too much insulin to help you, so their sugar is going to be low. They kept mine overnight at the nursery feeding her formula and sugar water, that normally levels out in a day or so. If you have any other questions, go ahead ask. Don't stress too much, that also elevates your sugar big time.
