Ok took my test today what a pain. I did my finger pick test along with it to see what it would be as well but not sure how accurate it is. At least until I hear from my dr. fasting it was 123 after taking the drink about 9:10 I check it and it was185 then 1 hr later it was 182 2 hrs it was 141 and 3 hrs it was 113 does that sound ok. again that was with my meter. Can't wait to hear from the dr. anxious to know.

Not to worry you but that actually sounds pretty high.  After two hours you should be under 120 Im pretty sure.

ugh. I was hoping that I was doing ok. God I wish the dr. office would call. Its driving me nuts!!

they also did an u/s I am going to be 28 wks tomorrow and she is mearsure about 3 # 1 oz and about almost 2 wks ahead. My last preg my son was 9#12 oz at birth so she might be a big baby too. She is in the 75% for her age

thanks

I couldnt wait so I called the dr. they said the results were normal. I didn't ask the readings as they were busy but will ask him my next appointment. Could just what I ate the night before my 1 hr test effect the testing? Just seems weird. What is bad about the testing I did today is that I was late and had a sono right after that timing might have been off about 3 mins for testing.

I would be really careful. That fasting number was very high. Mine are high and I have to take insulin. Your last two numbers is probally what allowed you to pass the test! So becareful...you could be borderline diabetic and I would watch your diet!

I only say this cause my second son was not labeled GD but I was borderline...and he was 11 lbs 6 ozs at birth. My other three pregnancies have been GD. I had an ultrasound last week (26 weeks) and my baby was measuring at 2 lbs 4 ozs which was 60 percentile. My diabetes doc said that was perfect and he is happy to keep the babies under 70% percentile!

If you want the diet plan I have to follow I would be glad to PM you! Good luck!

The diet plan would be great as our hospital I don't trust. From what I have heard testing results have been off. I don't know if my meter is correct as it is different then what the dr. said for my 1 hour but I am always tired. when I eat something my numbers are pretty high about 20 Mins after I eat and then i crash. Very very tired after I eat. I have also read that one can have gd if their last baby was big which I think my son was no little baby being 9#12 oz. with this one already measuring in the 75%.

thanks

My numbers were pretty much the same as yours and they said I failed my test because of the first two numbers and that I'm diabetic...hmm...do different doctors scale diabetes differently?

Hmm I am new to the group so I am not sure about your numbers , I am still learning myself. I had my 1 hr GTT and I was only 15 wks but I do have PCOS which apparently puts ne at a higher risk and my results came back at 211--she said I would skip the 3 hr test and went straight to a diagnosis of GD, I have been monitorin my BS and it hasn't gotten outrageous so far, but I am still learning how toeat properly and don't really want to go to the nutrionist.

Based on my experience with GD so far, the meters used to prick your finger can be off tremendously. When I did my 1 hour, my results came back 199 and we skipped the 3 hour all together. I went to see a specialist and a nutritionist. I was put on glyburide and we rechecked my levels one morning at my OB's office because I was shaky, my heart was pounding, I was sweating, etc. My meter read 141, the Dr.'s read 108, and my labs came back at 75 and this was after pumping myself full of sugar at the advice of my doctor. The labs are definitely more accurate if that is any consolation.

I have PCOS too. If you have any questions about diet, numbers, and whatnot, please feel free to message me. I am by no means an expert but have the support of two doctors (my OB and a specialist) and a nutritionist.

The fasting number is supposed to be under 90 from what I've heard. Not sure what the numbers for the one and three hour marks are supposed to be, but when you're eating normally they're supposed to be under 160 for 1 hour, and 130 for 2 hours. (I believe). But the numbers are different with the glucose tolerance test, I think.

Ask your doctor about taking a dietary magnesium supplement. This can sometimes control your blood sugar levels.
