Alyson Shae McKenna entered the world at 824am on Sept 16th. via scheduled csection (her placenta was failing)..
she was 5lbs 12oz and 19.3in (38 weeks, 1 day gestation)... Dark blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair and we are hoping it stays that way .. but either way.. are so in awe of her! she is our "earth angel" and we feel so blessed to have her here!!!
She had some blood sugar problems (due to my gestational diabetes) and we had to give her formula while at the hospital (I wasnt producing at that point)...... and she wasnt able to regulate her temp the first night .. but is doing great now!
I still havent been able to get her to latch on ... but, she is getting my milk and that makes me happy! She is more alert when she is awake and she even slept for 5 whole hrs last night!
Our main concern is keeping her warm.. where we live we have oil heating and by law the landlord doesnt need to turn it on till oct 1st .... but, we are contacting him today to see about getting him in the oil room to activate it a tad early! Right now, she has a space heater at night and we bundle a lot during the day!
She makes the most beautiful sounds when she sleeps and seems to be on the same schedule as she was when she was in my belly...
We thank God everyday for her ... and we have been telling her all about her *Angel* big brother Anthony too! she smiles when we say his name (yea yea.. prob just gas.. but hey! its cute!!)
Mommy is sore (mostly when getting up from sitting) but doing well...
As of Sept 19th when we were released from the hosiptal she was 5lbs 6oz!
