I have GD and I was diagnosed about 2 weeks ago. I really need some ideas for food! I am starting to get sick of eating the same thing pretty much day in and day out! I love sweets and since I am not suppose to have those really, it's killing me! I have found a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that I may give a try!
I am going to see a dietitian tomorrow so I hope she can help too!
Thanks!
rule #1, avoid artificale sweetners!!!
here's a few website:

Also do a google search on diabetec friendly recipes.
I found out sweet potatos and non-melon fruits are great source of natural sweets, but avoid honey :(
I have found that I can pretty much eat anything, it's just all in moderation. Your nutritionist should be able to give you meal ideas, as well as snack ideas. I had problems (and still do) with snacks. I hate being told that I have to eat at a certain time, and I have to eat so much so it's been a challenge. Overall, you'll do fine as long as you follow what the nutritionist says.
I too am having trouble :( I feel so restricted & confused...I love sweets with this baby so much & all I want is a cookie or candy bar :( I have been eating the sugar free puddings they kind of help. I was told by my diatician to use the artificial sweetners, but I do not cause they are expensive & I have been trying not to bake. I would love to have that cookie recipe if you care to share :) I cannot wait til my baby is born ( 5 weeks ) & then hopefully this will go away & I can eat like a normal person again.
