Slide Out and Covers?

Do you have any slide-outs on your trailers and if so, have you invested in covers for them?  I've heard that they are a necessity - not just a nice-to-have - but wanted to see what you all thought.

I think they are a necessity.  They keep the outside out instead of bringing it into your home when you pull in the slide.  They are especially important during heavy rain, as they keep the water from accumulating on top of your slide.  Without them, you would need to sweep off the top of the slide before bringing it in.

We have a big slide-out. The inside wall has a rubber edge that when you bring the slide-out in, it acts like a squeegee. It poured down rain during one of our trips and I had no water issues during or when closing the slide-out. We have no cover either.

We don't have a cover for the slide and have never (knock on wood!) had water issues.
