Do you use flash cards to help teach?

I did use flash cards. I mainly made my own.

I made my own. Realtives bought some for the kids. I use them and I think they really help.

I liked them.  Using something that the child actually can hold or touch helps. I can say the letter A, apple, but if they actually see a picture of A, apple it makes more of an impression. I like cards better than the TV or computer screen, too, because the TV or computer screen loses some special-ness.

 we do both but we dont use flash cards in the flash card way. we tape them to the sliding door and race for the answers.

I've tried to use flash cards with my daughter many times. I've bought some and I've made some, but she just never seemed interested in them. :(
