Do you answer the phone during dinner time?
We do. We went through a time that we let the machine pick up, but I am too curious. Now we have a cordless phone that I keep beside me if we eat in front of the TV. And if it rings when we are seated at the table, I get up and answer.
We just got this feature a couple weeks ago. I hadn't thought of using it for this purpose, but it makes sense. Thanks for the idea.
Quoting bhwrn1:Our phones announce who is calling. If it is my parents or MIL we will usually answer it (although they both know when we eat dinner so I don't know why they call us at that time!). Otherwise we let the machine get it.
No problem. Hope it works out for you!

We actually do, but people rarely call. The only one who REALLY gets calls is DH's boss, and we must answer.
Now that I have a cordless phone, and there are just my husband and myself at the meal, I bring the phone with me so I don't have to get up to answer it. But my usual policy with answering sitll holds. I say hello and if the person doesn't respond immediately I hang up.
