Hi ladies,
Do you express love freely or reserve it for special occasions? Do you tell your loved ones face-to-face or in written messages?
When my DS was younger I put a love note in his lunchbox every single day of the school year. Then when he started the 5th grade he asked me to stop. Sadly I honored his wishes.
Do/did your children ever get embarrassed by your public displays of affection for them?

i love showing my DD (who is also in 5th grade) that I love her. I gave her a few V-day items today but snuck the card in her school binder so she can find it later. Also, lately, I have tried to be better about showing my friends that I love them too. Many were surprised by Vday cards :-) Showing love is somethign that makes me feel good about me, esp on days when I don't feel so loving.
I tell my hubby and our son how much they mean to me daily. I tell my son at least 20 times a day I <3 you. He's only 15 months so he's not embarrassed by me just yet. But when that day comes, I'm going to be so sad.

Yes, my one son told me to stop telling him I loved him in public. I told him it was very important for me to say it and hear it back so I asked him to come up with a secret code word and for whatever reason he decided the secret word was "apples". Lol.
He is now 27 and that is still how we sign off :)
When he was in Iraq I sent his letters on apple stationary.
This is so wonderful- I nearly cried! Thanks for sharing!
Well, I do say i love you everyday to my little one; to my big one not so much everyday because i do not see him everyday, he is 29 yrs. old and my little one is a toddler of five so he gets alot more attention; When I call my first born I always let him know that i love him verbally. ![]()
