Bullying

Have your child or children ever been bullied? What do you do about this issue?

My child has not been bullied but has brought to my attention that there was a kid in his class bullying other kids.

I took it to the principal who immediately took care of the situation.

My dd's friend was bullied because she has a speech problem. My dd and her other friends reported it to the teacher, who took care of it while the girls made their friend feel better. Dd told her she would stand up for her if it happened again....and she probably would.

My youngest son is getting bullied.  He has a boy that used to be his friend that has some pretty major mental/behavioral issues.  I have spoken to the school several times, problem solved with the school on how to keep them apart, spoken with the father, spoken to the child directly, talked to the couselor and prinicipal.  

I have been tolerant and helped my son stay strong in the situation.  I understand the boy has issues that may even be beyond his control, but I have now made it clear to the school that if the little boy touches my son one more time that I am getting the police involved.  The little boy has not bothered my son for 2 weeks  now, so I have a feeling that the school told the parents that their son must be escorted to and from school since that is when he is causing problems.

I try very much to be understanding of the other child and the parent's situation since I have an older son that has  been frequently labeled a bully for issues that he has that are beyond his control.

My DS was bullied when he was 5 and 6 years old by a young teen. This was on the bus. The bus driver helped a lot, but nothing was done. I ended pulling him out of school and homeschooling him.
