What kind of toothpaste does your family use? Do the kids have their own kind(s)?

How do you get your kids to brush for the amount of time they should?

We use Luminous for our teeth and so does our oldest, he's 8. Our 4 year old uses kids Crest still.

We have a timer on the iPod that times them. They like the "it's a game" factor of it.

Both My DS and I use Colgate Optic White..He is older so he likes using a toothpaste like that. When he was younger he used the oral B character toothpastes.. As for brushing he is old enough now to do it on his own like he has been taught...when he was younger i used a kitchen timer and set it for two minutes like my pedi and his dentist recommended.

I got my daughter an electric toothbrush and it tells her when 2 minutes are up. Suddenly she has no problem brushing long enough now that she just knows to keep brushing until the alarm goes off!

We use crest whitening, an my daughter uses oral b, bubblegum disgusting princess sparkly goop. (It grosses me out. But the mint is too strong for her just yet.)

Her tooth brush flashes for one minute. She likes to "get the cooties" and we pretend we "get them" by brushing and saying "Oh, got one!" every now and again.

She uses Toms, natural strawberry toothpaste. I tell her to sing the alphabet in her head while she brushes, including the "now, I know my abcs parts" (for timing).
Then I give her little teeth a once over with the toothbrush myself
