Peanut butter and Reese lovers may not be so surprised that peanut butter can be turned into diamonds. Peanut butter, after all, is an amazing substance to begin with!
Yes, it is possible to turn peanut butter into precious gems. To make a diamond naturally is very difficult, hence the value given to diamonds. Substances with carbon in them must be exposed to high levels of pressure and a temperature of 1600-2370 degrees Fahrenheit (900-1300 degrees Celsius).
This level of pressure and heat generally only occurs in the lithospheric mantle or in an area where a meteor recently struck the ground. Since it is so difficult for diamonds to occur in nature, scientists are working on ways to make them artificially.
They are able to use many different carbon-containing substances, for example, peanut butter, to manufacture diamonds. Large amounts of pressure can do amazing things to many different elements.
