The Ten Commandments

Parents, are you teaching your children about God's ten commandments?  If not, you should be.  I highly recommend it.

God demands total devotion.  The ten commandments govern the relationship between God and those who love Him.  God has given us guidelines so our moral life will be pleasing to Him.  Teach your children holiness doesn't seek to be odd.  Holiness seeks to be like God. Amen.

The 10 Commandments; ~Exodus 20:3-17~

Verse 12-"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you."

Glory to God!

I teach them how to be good people, but not through the ten commandments. I'm not Jewish or Christian.

I teach my kids about the two commandments - Love the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself (also do unto others as you would have them do unto you).

That verse from Exodus is the first birth my mom taught me. As a kid I took it to mean that God would bless you with a long life if you obeyed your parents. As a parent  I think it means "Behave so your parents don't remember why some species eat their young" lol.

They are learning them now that they Have gone to many different bible camps this summer. My oldest (8) is asking questions as to what they mean. He gets most of them. Our 4yo doesn't understand them all yet. A few he does though.

We raise them to be good people because it's the right thing to do.

There is no religion in our home.
