I have looked through tons of online sites promising ideas for picky eaters and my dd, 6, would never eat any of it! I want so much to fill her lunchbox with healthy, well rounded, meals she will actually eat, problem is she is way too picky.

She will not eat sandwiches of any kind

No lunchmeat, period

If it is supposed to be hot she won't eat it from the lunchbox

No sauces, gravies, or anything else slimy, including soup!

See what I am up against

So far I have been giving her 1 or 2 raw veggies - she will only eat them raw and no potatoes

some fruit

some bread or crackers

maybe a cheese stick

She really prefers to snack rather than eat any kind of meal.

Any suggesstions?/

Thanks

My son is a grazer also. He eats fruits and vegetables. Lately he has been venturing out at dinner time and trying new things. I have no suggestions it sound like what your doing is fine.

My son is very picky

In his lunches he would take things like,

peanut butter crackers, pbj sandwich, or ocassional veggie bologna sandwich
raisins, dried cherries, and/or fresh fruit
pretzels, popcorn, veggie straws or veggie chips
yogurt, pudding, or applesauce
vanilla soymilk, chocolate soymilk, water or juice

I'm sure there were other things as well...

We can't have peanuts at my DD's school. Or anything with nuts. Which makes it hard.
A lot of what I was going to add has been listed. Stick mainly to fruit and veggies.
Here's a couple more ideas for something besides fruit and veggies:
-baked chips
-cold chicken nuggets
-real fruit snacks
-bread sticks
-rice
-dry cereal

Good luck! I know it's not easy packing lunches for picky eaters.

I am in the same boat with my 7 yr old son.  And today the teacher talked to me about his eating.  I felt like the worse mom ever.  He is slowly starting to eat more meats.  But our school lunches are nothing like when I was in school or even couple yrs ago.

Sounds to me your child is eating pretty healthy stuff. I would try to rotate the "snacks".  Be carefull with the peanut butter thing. Lots of schools are going nut free.

The "snacks" are okay and actually make a decent meal.  My 2 year old is very picky.  My 5 year old was picky, but now eats most things.

how about pretzels with peanut butter as a dip?  You could also try nutella.  Try new fruits and veggies.  At home, make smoothies and add a few things your daughter doesn't normally eat, disguise it with the sweetness of the fruit and fruit juice.  We add almonds and in the past have even added cooked chicken to smoothies!  Sounds gross, but we got our picky eater to eat those things!

Does she like snack bars?  There are some really healthy options that I have done review on on my blog.  There is one in particular that my daughter LOVES!  It's the fruition bar.  Take a look at my posts HERE

What about tuna or chicken salad she can spread on the crackers?
