My DH is fluent in Spanish and teaches our kids.

It is a great idea to learn other languages. For the reasons listed, and in particular the job area and in learning to communicate.

My kids are learning Spanish at school.  They are also learning Chinese because that is what my family speaks.  I would like for them to learn Korean because that is what their paternal family speaks but we have yet found a Korean school that is not church related. 

I agree with your list and I would add that it's good to know a bit of their heritage.

My husband is from Mexico. My son and I are learning Spanish. And our daughter is pretty much fluent in both, since she started at birth.
