when they were younger,  (5 and under) yes, I felt the need to entertain them. Now they can pretty much entertain themselves. Sometimes they don't want to and they still feel the need for me to be their entertainment.

From the beginning, I never entertained my kids.  We would have play time and activity time but I also taught them to do things on their own.  I've never heard my kids complain that they are bored and I think the fact that I never "entertained" them has a lot to do with it.

I don't feel I need to entertain him 24/7. He needs to learn to entertain himself but I do believe he needs quality time everyday.

I feel like I don't spend enough time with them.  We are so busy!

not constantly, but I do think it's healthy to spend some time playing with them.

Not anymore...my 15 month old does well entertaining himself...even if that means following me around while I'm doing housework.

Elijah is pretty good about entertaining himself, if it is needed, but since I am a SAHM I do not see the need to keep pushing him to go do his own thing. We have a lot of fun doing things together during the day.
