When do you usually put up your Christmas tree? Is it a real or an artificial tree? Do you get your kids special ornaments each year?

Our tree has to be real.
Hallmark ornaments are so cute/adorable, Some years I had a theme and others went all out what is in the boxes. Put up Chrismas tree about two weeks before Christmas, because my children's birthday is right smack in the middle of it all and don't like to celebrate birthdays with Christamas trees because that is really not the reason for the season. Most years when my children were growing up it was real, when divorced artificial. Now, I think to get a wooden one made to put on the wall and place ornaments on them. Less of a hassle. UInless I get lucky and able to purchase a new home.
