When is the last time you went on a roadtrip?..

What tips can you give me to make traveling with young children easier?

Quoting AleaKat:

We go on long road trips a good bit.
Last one we took was only 2 hours to Dollywood
We take the Nintendo DS
And connect the iPad to the headrest and let the kids watch movies. It helps a lot!!!!

We stop and let them stretch their legs, maybe find a park/ playground or at least a McDonald's playground.
Our families live over 12 hours away and plane tickets are expensive so we usually drive.
Our boys are 3 and 5.
Also driving at night helps cause the kids sleep through most of it

Our trip we're taking is a a 22 hour drive, I do believe and that doesn't count all the times we'll be stopping...I'm really nervous about it...But driving at night is a great idea :)

A lot less traffic as well.
Where are you going? From where?

Maybe look online to find attractions on the way .

We took a trip when I was 14 from La to Iowa and we made a trip to Mt Rushmore and the badlands on the way.

Last road trip was 2011

We're planning a trip to Va Beach in June, it'll be a 4.5hour drive for us.  My children are 2, 4, 6

I have DVD players for my car, they have tablets to keep them occupied.  I plan to bring snacks for the car too.  CD's with kids music, and maybe some coloring books or other easy activities
