Hello Everyone,
My name is Stacie and I am the proud Mom of two great boys, 12 and 7. My older son is in PA Leadership Charter School, based out of West Chester. He is going into the gifted program at the school called University Scholars. He will be in 8th grade. My younger son attends tradtional Brick & motar school in our hometown and will be in the 3rd grade this year.
I am looking to connect with other familes in the state who have gifted children, cyber schoolers, etc. My oldest son was identified as gifted in kindergarten and has had many ups and downs because of his intellegence.
When I say ups and downs, I mostly mean socially and emotionally. He has had such a hard time finding friends like him or being accepted by others because he is so much more differnt then them.
My younger son on the other hand, is the complete oppisite when it comes to socialization. He makes friends wherever he goes. But we are always looking for new fiends to meet!
I am looking for any help or suggestions on how and where to find kids like him where we live.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, and learning your stories!
~Stacie
I just moved to PA two weeks ago, and we are going to cyber school through Agora k-12 program. It is our first year ever even thinking about homeschool and now we are so excited. My daughter is 8 and is going into the third grade. She has always been advanced and used to get bullied because of being small for her age.
I do cyberschool with our middle child! Last year did it with both of my school age children, but my oldest missed her friends so she's back at a brick and mortar school! We are with PA Virtual Charter School and we love them! I really like the K12 curriculum!
