So I teach a lot of Zumba classes long story short
I noticed my Left calf felt tight and I thought maybe I strained a muscle or something because
There was a couple times I wasn't able to stretch
Like I normally get to before class. Well between
My AM and PM class I noticed my left calf was
Slightly bigger than the right. No pain so I went
On teaching th PM class and it wasn't until after
My 5:30am class did I notice that it didn't look right
And there was heat coming off it so I immediately
Thought I have a blood clot!! :[ and I went
Had an ultrasound and they found a DVT in my
Left calf but it was more towards the inner ankle.
Anyways they have put me out no Cardio for a
Minimum of three months and I went on blood thinners
So my diet had to change. They think it was the
Birth control I started last Dec. but I am partially
Just venting and asking ideas in what would you do to
Pass time? Bc Zumba was my full time job besides being an
EMT at the jail. I have been cleared to walk so I do
Go for a walk everyday around the track. Thanks for
Reading... :)

I'm so sorry for what you are going through.  I fell at work last February and injured my back.  I was unable to teach for a few months.  Unfortunately, it hurt to even walk a mile too.  So, I spent lots of time watching Zumba videos and memorize routines without dancing them out.  You sound determined, I'm sure you will figure out what works best for your situation. Wishing you a complete recovery <3

Thanks Anita. I have been watching a lot of Zin DVDs and
Choreographing my own stuff do everyone has fresh stuff.
There are days I see this positive like okay I will be back
And other days I just don't see it happening. :( I get frustrated
Because I went from being super active to basically
A couch potato. I appreciate your reply! :) thanks for reading. :)

What do your Doctors say?  Are they telling you that yes, you can return to Zumba/Fitness after recovery or is a wait and see type of thing?  So sorry for your frustration, hang in there...

I have to wait until after my next ultrasound which in
April. They won't make any decisions until then.
Thanks Anita. It's just do hard from going from
Really active to no cardio.. But as soon as I can
Get back to teaching it will be awesome!! :)

You can always be like Diane Felkenes and teach from your chair - she really gets that thing moving!
