My heart is breaking for a family I don't even know

We hold our monthly PFLAG meetings in a Unitarian Church. Some of the members of the church are also members of PFLAG. One of our members shares a story about a member of the church who just part.  He was on his way to the hospital to pick up his wife, who has been fighting cancer for the past three years, when he was hit by a group of teenagers. He past, leaving behind his ill wife and their 2 kids ages 7 and 14.

I, as well as the VP of our local PFLAG are attending a fundraising dinner for the family this weekend at the local country club.

I just can't imagine how they all feel.  Please say a prayer for this family.

I thought the whole story was sad. I couldn't imagine fighting cancer for 3 years and having children.
