If Ryan Lochte Gets 'DWTS' Spot, He's Sure to Make It Sparkle
Dancing With the Stars fan and MamasLatinas writer Michelle Regalado is extremely excited for a certain potential Olympian who could be hitting the DWTS dance floor in a future season! This is one rumor we'd love to see play out.
Watch out William Levy -- a new Cuban hunk could be appearing on Dancing With the Stars! Olympian swimmer Ryan Lochte recently told reporters that he would like to participate on the dancing competition. AH, excuse me while I squeal with joy.
Seriously though, as a big fan of DWTS, I thought I had pretty much reached the peak of my ballroom-watching happiness with Levy bringing his Latin flavor to the show last season. But having gotten caught in the Olympics-Lochte fever like every other woman in the world, I am even more excited about the possibility of Lochte being on the show! I really believe he would be a perfect match. Think about it -- with his already bedazzled, over-the-top style, he would be right at home in those sparkly dance costumes. Maybe he would even rock a grill on the floor?
Regardless, Lochte is clearly up for the challenge, even saying that he would go head-to-head against his swim nemesis in dance! "I mean since I am so used to competing against Michael Phelps, yeah, I'd have him on the show," Lochte said. Well, that would definitely be something I'd like to see, although I have to admit that I think Lochte could beat out Phelps in that area. After all, he is half-Cuban, so he has to have at least some rhythm!
Producers from the show have not extended any official invitations to either swimmer (probably since their upcoming all-star season hasn't even started yet), but given their popularity, I'm sure that they would be a welcome addition. And I, for one, can't wait to see if it will really happen!
