I need some help my 10 year old DD has been sick for the past week. she started with a stomach ache last week on Thursday and still has it. I have taken her to the doc the hospital given her so many things and nothing works.
she says its on her left side and it feels like someone its twisting her stomach, she has heart burn so I have an idea of what it is. I gave her Zantac yesterday and today but it went away just briefly as soon as she ate some vegies she had it again. she screams from the pain the doc says its not an ulcer but I just don't know any more. have any of you ladies had a problem like this before?
I don't know what to give her to get her to feel better.
Is it's an ulcer is there anything other than zantac to give her?
They said its not her appendix cause she would have pain on her right side. they would not say if it was an ulcer they pretty much said we are not sure what it is. we think its just heart burn. but she is not overweigh at all I know that can be common in children who are overweight. plus she eats very healthy. she does do drink soda more than other drinks.

My son had nauseas and stomachaches all the time, he even had the whole puking late at night almost every day, his dr gave him Florastor which is a probiotic and told him to eat yogurt for a couple of weeks, he had a problem with the bacteria in his stomach, his was all out of whack, after a few day the pain was going away, every now and then when he eats too much junk food he has the pain which is bad at times. Other than that I'd say maye ask the dr to run other tests on her?
Have you ever thought of taking her to an ND:

I hope you find out what it is that is causing her pain.
I hope she feels better soon.
I think she should stop drinking soda and drink more water.

This day and age NO ONE should be drinking soda it has a lot of dangers, kids especially should never be drinking soda! Google it.
If it's hurt burn there are stronger med's in a drug store. I get a lot of heart burn (Have had it all my life)and the pain is up high in my stomach and pain down low and to the side that is not something else. If you are over wight it does get worse.
In the hospital do you know if they pushed down on her right side, if it is a appendix she will jump out of the bed in pain. Try this a home push down on her right side and let go fast and see how she feels.
I say go back and ask for a x-ray and more test a child should not be in pain for this long. Good luck
