I am a mexican american as well , my stbh is mexican and we both speak both languages here to our 2 kids. My 3 yr old speaks more english but she also speaks spanish just not that much. Now with my 2 yr old we have to speak to him in spanish since he is having alil hard time speaking so his therapist told us to stick to one language with him for now.
